Brightness of Life — Original Oil Painting

Brightness of Life is a desert sunset with saguaro cactus. The light and color give it a bold feeling, with magenta, violet, orange, turquoise, dark green carrying much of the mood. It can bring atmosphere into a room without making the space feel busy. The smaller shifts in light, color, and distance give the image more to discover over time.

From Nathan: What interested me most in this painting was the light. I wanted magenta and the surrounding colors to work together naturally, while keeping the scene bold and full of atmosphere. I like leaving enough room in a painting for the viewer to bring some of their own memories and feelings to it.
